I am 38-years old. My husband I tried conceiving for 4 years with no luck. About 2 years ago, we went to Shady Grove fertility center to speak with them about IVF procedures. Because my insurance would not cover the cost, the treatments including medication were going to cost us approximately $50,000. We were heart broken. We didn't have this amount of money and couldn't rationalize bringing a baby into the world with such a huge debt hanging over our heads. Plus there was nothing wrong with either of us physically. I didn't want to be pumped full of needless hormones. Then we heard about Dominion and Natural Cycle IVF. We went in for a consultation and were told that while I was a bit older than normal, we were perfect candidates. We started trying with Dominion in September of this year. My first cycle was a huge disappointment. 36 hours after my trigger shot, I went in for egg retrieval and found out that I had already ovulated. Strike one. My 2nd cycle I made it through egg retrieval and fertilization, but the egg never fully matured and the cycle ended. Strike two. The third cycle was a success. The embryo was transplanted on Thanksgiving day and a week later I heard the words I had waited 4 years for. My blood work showed I was pregnant. My due date is the same day as my anniversary. I'm now 11 weeks along and while the morning sickness and achiness is daily for me, I love every minute of it. All of the doctors and especially the 7:00am nurses are amazing. My husband and I can't stop smiling and it's all because of Dominion.
