I'm looking for input from an RE or embryologist, my DH has a good semen analysis, count, morphology, and movement are all normal, but my RE is insisting on ICSI? We aren't comfortable with so much manipulation, why are they pushing this option when all is normal??

Basically if you have never been pregnant and your DH has never gotten anyone pregnant then your RE will recommend ICSI so you will be guaranteed to have some eggs fertilize. Well not guarantee, but help make sure you get some embryos since you are going through all those shots and egg retrieval, ICSI just helps cover another variable.
You might want to check out this blog by Dr. Gordon and if you feel strongly that you do not want ICSI then discuss it with your RE.

ICSI - or intracytoplasmic sperm injection - is a very useful technique during IVF that traditionally was used for couples with very low sperm count or with a history of no fertilization during IVF. However, because ICSI can increase the likelihood of fertilization during IVF, many RE's and fertility clinics have extended its use for all patients, assuming that more manipulation must be better. If your partner has a normal semen analysis, you do not necessarily need ICSI. In fact, I believe there are many benefits to allowing the strongest sperm to "fight its way" into the egg, as it utilizes a form of natural selection of the sperm.
