How do we go about choosing a donor?  I know this is the only way to make it happen for us, but just don't know what I should look for in a donor.  I'm trying to think of it as I would if we were…Continue

We are trying to decide between NCIVF or regular IVF for our next step.  The only thing identified wrong with us is a low sperm count (12 million) which doesn't seem like a low number to me, but I'm…Continue

I'm AMA and we thought that was our only issue until DH got his semen analysis, revealing low motility and abnormal morphology.  What do we do now, I was hoping to do injectables with IUI, but now…Continue

Hello, I'm 32 and just diagnosed with POF, I have been on the pill for many years so there's no way to know when my ovaries quit working.   My ob/gyn says egg donation is the only way for me to have…Continue

"Hi Seashelly, I understand your frustration oh so well.  We are struggling with what to do next, and originally had set a limit of 3 tries, but now I'm leaning toward trying stimulated IVF.  I've done IUI with meds twice, and one…"

How do we go about choosing a donor?  I know this is the only way to make it happen for us, but just don't know what I should look for in a donor.  I'm trying to think of it as I would if we were adopting (still an option) but not sure what I should look for there either.  Any advice from those that have been there?See More

Anonymous replied to Wendy's discussion Any other POF out there? What are you doing for Health & Conceiving?
"Hi Wendy, I have been struggling with POF or DOR (diminished ovarian reserve) for a couple of years.  I still occasionally have a cycle, but no RE would do stimulated IVF on me so I'm considering NCIVF.  Of course that won't work…"

Low count sperm count

We are trying to decide between NCIVF or regular IVF for our next step.  The only thing identified wrong with us is a low sperm count (12 million) which doesn't seem like a low number to me, but I'm not an expert.  We have done 3 IUI's without success, and our insurance doesn't cover either type of IVF so what should we do?See More

Anonymous replied to Anonymous's discussion Why ICSI
"I think it depends on how long you have been trying and all factors with you.  Basically if you have never been pregnant and your DH has never gotten anyone pregnant then your RE will recommend ICSI so you will be guaranteed to have some eggs…"

Robin Webb R.N. replied to Anonymous's discussion Male issues
"Many couples have issues on both sides, it is likely IVF with ICSI will be an option, but there is also donor sperm and/or donor egg.  Also, we have natural cycle IVF which includes ICSI and is well suited for couples that have male factor, but…"

Dominion Fertility SART Inspection: Great Job!

Last week we had a SART/CDC site inspection. All IVF clinics in the country report to the CDC as part of the Wyden Law passed back in the 1990s. Although a few clinics choose not to report we have always been members of SART and reported to the CDC. During the inspection over 50 charts are chosen at random and carefully inspected to make sure that we are honest and accurate in reporting our results. We passed with flying colors! Kudos to all of our staff that work so hard on this part of…See More
