I can't see why minimal stim IVF would be better than regular IVF, but we will be doing NCIVF which avoids the multiple medications which for me seems like the best option.

Totally agree with you about the progesterone, I've taken the supps and had such bad PMS like symptoms that I knew it didn't work long before the blood test.

I'm considering nat cycle IVF, we have had no success with IUI despite an unexplained diagnosis.  Congrats to you, I hope I can post something good soon.

Such a great question!  ICSI - or intracytoplasmic sperm injection - is a very useful technique during IVF that traditionally was used for couples with very low sperm count or with a history of no fertilization during IVF.  However,…

You might want to check out this blog by Dr. Gordon and if you feel strongly that you do not want ICSI then discuss it with your RE. http://www.100infertilityquestions.blogspot.com/2011/09/question-55-my-husband-and-i-were-told.html

I think it depends on how long you have been trying and all factors with you.  Basically if you have never been pregnant and your DH has never gotten anyone pregnant then your RE will recommend ICSI so you will be guaranteed to have some eggs…

Thanks for sharing this post, I used to spend a lot of time on that IF board and others but I find it sometimes makes me more anxious about the whole ttc process.

You should give the metformin 3-6 months to work, and we recommend gradually increasing the dose to 1500 XR taken once a day, preferably at dinnertime.  Good Luck

Nat cycle IVF with Metformin

Hello,    I have PCOS and have been taking metformin for 2 months in the hopes that I will get a normal cycle.  I just read the blog about PCOS patient doing NCIVF, I would really like to give that a try since we have male factor as well, but I was wondering how long I have to be on the medication before it works?See More

Would NCIVF be an option if my cycles are 32-35 days in length?  I have been told I have PCOS but I do get my period.

The goal for ovulation induction is one dominant follicle to emerge, and it sounds like you are on track.  Sometimes it can take longer for patients with PCOS so hang in there, and good luck with tomorrow's scan.

Low count sperm count

We are trying to decide between NCIVF or regular IVF for our next step.  The only thing identified wrong with us is a low sperm count (12 million) which doesn't seem like a low number to me, but I'm not an expert.  We have done 3 IUI's without success, and our insurance doesn't cover either type of IVF so what should we do?See More
